A brand new opportunity for a motivated and experienced Property Solicitor to join at solicitor or associate level of this national Real Estate team. The ideal person will have around 3 years minimum experience but applications will be considered from candidates with pre qualification experience.
The Real Estate team in Newcastle are a key part of the National Housing team with experience and expertise in dealing with all aspects of property work for large regional and national Housing Associations and local authorities across the country. Their work varies from high volume acquisitions and disposals of housing stock, to development acquisitions for RPs and OJEU procured development disposals for Homes England and various local authorities (including public sector led regeneration projects underpinned by housing). They also do security / housing refinance work, plot sales (including complex leasehold set-ups), right to acquire, right to buy, shared ownership and auction sales. The team is ranked in the Legal 500 for Social Housing as well as the Partner ranked in Chambers 2018.
My clients are seeking applications from candidates who have relevant property experience in dealing with housing and residential transactions of the various types set out above. In addition they need to be confident working within a commercial environment, with strong communication skills and attention to detail. A keen interest in and/or ability to embrace the use of technology to modernise the delivery and management of legal services is also important.
We are seeking a candidate who can demonstrate a real interest in the housing sector and a track record of handling a substantial case load of property work.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for preparing formal reports for clients to fulfil service level obligations and experience in day-to-day reporting to clients on individual matters is essential along with strong communication skills, attention to detail and an ability to work under pressure. A team work ethic is also key, with a willingness to supervise and help developer junior colleagues including paralegals in the team. Experience of delivering work across a national network of offices is desirable but not essential.
